World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day in mid-November is organized by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). This awareness campaign seeks to educate the public about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and how to improve the lives of those whom have it.
First held in 2002, each year has its own unique focus with participation in events involving health care organizations, government agencies and educators.
